Benefits of Jira Integration

Beep's seamless integration with Jira allows users to enhance their workflow even further. This integrations allows you to share beeps directly with your Jira team, as well as discuss and assign tasks to teammates.

Integrating Beep with Jira

  1. Open the dashboard (click here to learn how).
  1. Click on the “Integrations” tab.
  1. In the Jira Integration container, click on the “Connect” button.
  1. On the pop-up window, click on the “Let’s start” button.
  1. Log-in to Atlassian, if prompted to.
  1. When shown the page “Beep is requesting access to your Atlassian account”, scroll down until you see the “Authorize for site” drop-down menu.
  1. Choose the site from the drop-down menu you wish Beep to have access to.
  1. At the bottom of the same page, click on the “Accept” button.
  1. You’ll be taken back to the dashboard’s Integrations tab. You’ll see a pop-up window with the words “Authorizing with Notion”.
  1. When complete, the window will ask you to confirm the site you wish to integrate. If correct, click on the “Confirm” button.
  1. A new “Finish setting up” window will appear. Under the “Projects” section, choose the Jira projects you want to connect by ticking the checkboxes (you can also choose all by clicking the “Connect All” button).
  1. Under the “Fallback Reporter” section, select the account your beeps will be created by on Jira.
  1. Done. A confirmation pop-up window will show you how to use Beep with Jira. You should also now see your Jira integration window have a green “Connected” label (as shown below).

How to use Jira with Beep

  1. Create a beep on your browser (click here to learn how).
  1. Once you’ve typed your message, click on the projects button.
  1. On the pop-up window, click on the Jira integrations tab
  1. Select the specific Jira project.
  1. Select the issue. Once this is done, you’ll see the selected project appear on your beep comment box.
  1. To tag a teammate, type “@j+” in the comment box and you’ll see a window display your Jira team.
  1. Select the teammate you wish to assign the task to.
  1. Click “Save / Send”.

How to use disconnect Jira integration

  1. Open the dashboard (click here to learn how).
  1. Click on the “Integrations” tab.
  1. In the Jira Integration container, click on the “Settings” button.
  1. On the upper-right corner of the next page, click on the “Disconnect” button.
  1. On the “Cancel integration” pop-up window, click on the “Delete” button to confirm.
  1. Lastly, click the “Done” button.
